As I travel around the great state of Texas, I am always impressed by what I call 'Texas
Gates'.  Some are small and functional, but most, to my great pleasure, are large and
expensive.  Some seem to lead to nowhere at all.  Perhaps in the past when some of
them were built they led to someone's pride and joy.  Some are so elaborate that I
wonder if the owner had any money left over to build whatever lays beyond the gate.  It
seems to be a matter of great 'pride'  (a quality that is abundant for us Texans) to have
an impressive gate and perhaps a gate that is  just a little larger and more unique than
the next guy.  For several years I have thought about making a coffee table book using
the pictures of Texas Gates.  Now I have decided to just put them in my web site.  I
hope you enjoy them and if you have any pictures of Texas Gates,  or any gate in your
state, please send them to me by email and if suitable, I will add them to this page.
Most of these gates reside in an area around Llano, Fredericksburg,  Johnson City,
Marble Falls and Burnet, the Texas Hill Country.
